Latest Release

Version 2.1.8 , June 2026

Make the recommendation email your own, add a whole Apple Music playlist in one tap, plus clearer in-app help.

  • Save your own recommendation email. iOS & Android When you recommend Wedding Player by email from the Share screen, you can now write your own version of the message and save it. Your wording is used every time, and you can edit it again whenever you like, or reset it back to the original.
  • Add a whole Apple Music playlist in one tap. iOS only When you open an Apple Music playlist, the Add All button is now front and centre, so you can bring every track into your moment at once instead of adding them one by one.
  • Clearer in-app help. iOS & Android The help screens now describe the day in wedding-day terms and explain exactly how Spotify works with Wedding Player, so you know your music options before the day.

Previous Release

Version 2.1.7 , 11 June 2026

The in-app demo now talks you through it. A warm guided voiceover walks you across the setup screens and through the demo ceremony, so you can see how a Wedding Player ceremony comes together without reading a thing.

  • A guided demo ceremony. The three demo songs (the entrance, the signing, and the exit) now play with a friendly spoken walkthrough mixed in, explaining what is happening at each moment as the music plays. If you keep the demo songs as a starting point for your own ceremony, they switch back to the clean instrumental versions automatically, so the narration never ends up in your real ceremony.
  • A spoken intro on the setup screens. The opening screens that introduce moments, music, and the ceremony preview now carry a short voiceover, so the run-up to the demo makes sense from the first tap. You can skip it at any time from the top corner.
  • Share Wedding Player in a tap. A new Share screen in Settings gives you a QR code and a ready-to-send email recommendation, so couples and wedding professionals can pass the app on to others planning their day.
  • New Pro plans for wedding professionals, with a free month to start. Venues, celebrants and co-ordinators can now subscribe monthly (£5.99) or annually (£49.99), each beginning with a one-month free trial, replacing the previous single annual licence. Couples are unaffected: full access stays a £7.99 one-off purchase, yours forever, with no subscription.
  • Now on Android, with full feature parity. The Android app is on version 2.1.7 too, matching iPhone and iPad feature for feature: the same Moments, Live Mode, crossfades, fully offline playback, Wedding Player Originals, sharing, and the new Pro plans. The one exception is Apple Music, which is iOS only, so on Android you build your ceremony from your own audio files and Wedding Player Originals.

Version 2.1.5 , 26 May 2026

A small update to correct an issue in the App Store description, with a minor splash-screen polish riding along: the "Ceremony Music" phrase in the launch subtitle is now picked out in brand gold while the rest of the line sits in the regular text colour, so the two words that name the product category get the visual emphasis.

Version 2.1.4 , 25 May 2026

A big polish-and-discovery release. New "Get more music" surfaces inside every moment that link out to a dedicated weddingplayer.app/music hub, Loop now works on multi-track moments, the app picks up your iOS Light or Dark setting automatically, and a comprehensive visual pass coloured every player card to match its moment.

  • "Get more music" inside every moment. A new row below the Add Originals / Add Local Files / Add Apple Music pills opens a discovery sheet covering three on-device routes for finding ceremony tracks (buying outright, free music libraries, and adding files you already own). Each entry deep-links into the new weddingplayer.app/music topic hub.
  • Loop now works on multi-track moments. Previously the Loop toggle was single-track only. Now any moment with multiple tracks can loop: tracks play in order, then wrap back to track 1 and keep going until you tap Fade & End. Crossfade carries the wrap, so the last-to-first transition sounds the same as every other in the moment.
  • Light or dark mode now follows iOS. The app no longer locks itself to dark mode on the splash, onboarding, demo, or paywalls. Picks up your iOS Display setting automatically, with the option to lock to one mode in Settings → Appearance.
  • Refreshed player cards and trial CTAs. Each moment's player card now keeps its colour to a single bold strip at the top with a clean body, and the play button fills with the moment's colour so the pair reads as a unit. Trial-state buttons across iPhone, iPad, the paywall and Settings are unified as filled-gold with the unlock icon.
  • Sharper Pre-Ceremony Readiness. Low battery is now a Critical warning (was filed under "Worth checking"). Missing tracks across all three sources (Apple Music, Local Files, Wedding Player Originals) now appear at the top of the check, with a dedicated review screen showing each missing track, its moment, the source type, and a one-tap Remove action.
  • Help & Support refresh. New "Where to Find Music" walkthrough for couples without Apple Music (covers iTunes Store, Amazon Music via Safari, Bandcamp, Qobuz, 7digital). New "Why isn't Spotify supported?" explainer with workarounds. New trim editor walkthrough. Contact Support inside Help now uses the diagnostic-attached email flow too.
  • Trim editor polish. Live countdown in every preview button so you can see how long is left. Reset Trim now floats above the safe area so it's reachable from any scroll position on iPhone and iPad. The Restart Moment button now reads "Stop and Re-Cue Moment" to match what it actually does. iPad: visible sheet edges, inline Apple Music note, pinned Stop Preview.
  • iPad parity and accessibility. Trial users on iPad now see the same single Go Live CTA as iPhone (the duplicate banner has been removed). Restart Moment text size now caps the same way iPhone does. App-wide legibility pass: small gold text and icons throughout (trim coordinates, Save/Cancel, Done buttons, settings-row icons) now use a deeper gold so they meet accessibility contrast standards in light mode. Dark mode unchanged.
  • Calmer splash screen. Drops the animated sunburst rays and drifting particles for a clean app-icon-only launch. A more composed first impression every time you open the app.

Version 2.1.3 , 11 May 2026

A redesigned Pre-Ceremony Readiness check guides you through every pre-flight item before the ceremony starts, with live Airplane Mode status, a one-tap shortcut to your Apple Music downloads, and a tighter Live Mode that protects against accidental taps on the day.

  • New Pre-Ceremony Readiness sheet. Tap Go Live and a guided check appears before Live Mode: any critical warnings (missing tracks, Apple Music access, low battery) are surfaced at the top, followed by a short operator checklist. Airplane Mode reads live from your device and shows a Yes or No pill automatically. Do Not Disturb is a manual confirm. Start the Ceremony activates only once every row is satisfied.
  • Open Apple Music shortcut. When a track isn't downloaded for offline use, one tap takes you straight to the Wedding Player Ceremony playlist in Apple Music. Download the track, return to Wedding Player, and the readiness sheet refreshes automatically.
  • In-line help and per-screen tips for the readiness flow. Tap the "?" button on the readiness sheet for a contextual tip card explaining each step. The Help section in Settings has been updated to cover the new flow alongside the existing guides.
  • Confirmation when switching moments in Live Mode. Tapping a different moment now always asks for confirmation, whether music is playing or stopped. Protects against accidental taps derailing the running order on the day.
  • iPad Live Mode keeps the active moment visible. When the ceremony auto-advances to the next moment, the sidebar scrolls so the active moment stays in view. No more hunting for where you are mid-ceremony with the device set down.
  • Settings rows fully tappable. Tap anywhere on a settings row to open it, not just on the text or chevron.
  • Wi-Fi-only iPad polish. Airplane Mode references now hidden in the pre-flight check, tip cards, and Help section on Wi-Fi-only iPads where Airplane Mode would block Bluetooth speakers and streaming for no benefit.
  • Help content accuracy pass. Default moment names, button labels ("Edit Moments", "Add Moment", "Add Tracks" / "Edit Tracks"), and the way you exit Live Mode all updated to match what you actually see in the app.

Version 2.1.2 , 4 May 2026

Better support for larger text sizes across the app, a refreshed Settings layout, a polished Add Moment flow, and a safer way to leave Live Mode mid-ceremony.

  • Custom text size in Settings. A new Text Size section under Appearance lets you override iOS Settings from inside the app. Toggle on Custom Text Size to reveal a slider that steps through Extra Small → XXX Large with a live preview of sample text. Useful when you want larger text in the app than your iPhone's general setting (or smaller).
  • Comprehensive larger-text support across every screen. An app-wide accessibility audit means setup, paywall, onboarding, personalisation, demo tips, transport controls, the Live Mode panel, alerts, and the Apple Music search now all reflow cleanly at the largest text sizes: titles wrap, buttons stay legible, and chrome elements stop scaling at sensible caps.
  • Refreshed Add Moment flow. The Add Moment / Edit Moment sheet now matches the rest of the app's editor style: clean Name / Short / Segment rows, a bottom-anchored Add Moment button, and a chronologically-ordered suggestion list (Prelude → Bridesmaids → Processional → Readings → Hymns → Candle Lighting → Recessional → Confetti Walk → Speeches → Cutting The Cake for daytime; Drinks Reception → Food is Served → First Dance → Dad & Daughter Dance → Party Selection → Last Dance for evening).
  • Safer way to exit Live Mode. The Live Mode banner is now a tap target with a confirmation alert ("Exit Live Mode?") instead of a horizontal swipe. Removes the risk of an accidental swipe ending Live Mode mid-ceremony.
  • Settings layout tightened. Vertical spacing between sections has been reduced so more fits on screen without scrolling, and a few labels have been clarified: "Download Checklist" is now "Offline Readiness", and the Moments section header is shorter.
  • Bigger play button in rehearsal mode on iPhone SE. The compact rehearsal transport on smaller iPhones now uses the same prominent rounded-rectangle play button as Live Mode, with the action label inside the button instead of as a tiny caption below.
  • Pick several Wedding Player Originals at once. Tap each track to select it (filled checkmark), then tap the "Add N tracks" button at the bottom to add them all in one go. No more adding tracks one by one with the picker closing after each.
  • Moment detail screen optimised for smaller iPhones: every track row stays comfortably visible on iPhone SE / mini.
  • More room for tracks on small iPhones in Edit Mode. The Add Local Files / Add Originals / Add Apple Music buttons drop their icons and tighten up so more of your playlist is visible above them.

Version 2.1 , 30 April 2026

Wedding Player Originals: a curated collection of 35 fully licensed instrumental ceremony tracks built into the app, plus polish across the picker, playlist, and playback experience.

  • New Wedding Player Originals branding: the curated 35-track ceremony collection now has a distinct name across the app, separate from your local files and Apple Music.
  • Every Original now has a 15-second preview. Tap the play circle next to any track to audition it before downloading. Previews cache automatically and play offline after the first listen.
  • Once an Original is downloaded, the same play button auditions the full track in place, useful for previewing the whole arrangement before adding it to a moment.
  • Source-distinct icons on every track row in your playlist: Apple logo for Apple Music, music-list for Originals, music note for your own files. See at a glance where each track came from.
  • Confirmation alert before removing a track from a moment. Protects against accidental taps during setup.
  • Auditions stop automatically when you leave the picker or Manage Originals screen.
  • Stronger play/stop button with a sweeping progress ring so you can see at a glance that audio is actually advancing.
  • Edit-mode source labels reformatted as two-line pills: Add / Local Files, Add / Originals, Add / Apple Music, with consistent visual weight across all three.
  • Manage Originals renamed (was Manage Library) and now shows a numbered three-step guide so it's clear what to do next after downloading.
  • Standardised Done buttons across all sheets: same wording, same colour, same placement.
  • Cleaner playback start: the very first millisecond of every track ramps up smoothly.
  • The Originals catalogue updates over time: new tracks appear automatically, and removed tracks are cleaned up from your device. No app update needed when the collection changes.
