## The Story

Don McAllister founded ScreenCastsOnline, a video tutorial service he started as a hobby 20 years ago that grew into a successful Apple training platform. When his daughter Nicola married in March 2026, he needed an app that could run her ceremony music reliably: offline, with smooth fades, and simple enough for anyone to operate. No app did, so he built one. After it worked on the day, he made it available for every couple.

Wedding Player is a small, founder-led product. Don builds the iOS and Android apps himself, working alongside AI tools (Anthropic's Claude) for the engineering. The product decisions, and every judgement about what matters on a wedding day, are his.

## What It Does

1. **Moments, not a playlist.** A moment for each part of the day, each with its own tracks and fades. Up to 8 ceremony moments and 8 evening moments, renamed and reordered to suit.
2. **Three music sources in one running order.** Apple Music (iPhone and iPad), your own audio files, and Wedding Player Originals: 75 licensed instrumentals included at no extra cost.
3. **Trim and fade.** Trim any track in the app and fade it out on cue, so the processional ends when the couple arrive, not when the song does.
4. **Loop a moment.** Set a moment to loop and it repeats until you fade to the next one.
5. **Live Mode.** Tap Go Live and Live Mode hides editing and asks before you restart, jump or exit, so anyone can run the music.
6. **Ready before the first song.** Plays offline once downloaded. Offline Readiness checks every track, and the Go Live check covers downloads, battery, Focus and Airplane Mode.
7. **Readiness reminders.** A free countdown, optional reminders in the weeks before, and a summary the day before of anything still to do.
8. **Professional Licence.** For venues, celebrants, officiants and planners. Each couple's wedding in its own workspace, switch in a tap, with pre-emptive checks on client weddings, soonest first. No per-wedding fees.

No ads and no account needed. Light, dark or follow the device.

Apple Music and iCloud backup and sync are available on iPhone and iPad. Everything else works on iPhone, iPad and Android.
